History: | "This Aleut name meaning ""long, narrow, and with some stony places,"" was applied by Father Veniaminov (1840, v. 1, p. 255), and was published by him as ""Kyuatka"" (p. 265). Captain Lutke (1836, p. 267), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), called the island ""Kaouakhta."" The exact location of this island is not known." |
