History: | Feature called Anchorage off Point Highfield in 1862 by F. O. Simpson, Master of the H.M.S. Devastation; name published as such in 1882 on British Assembly Chart 2431. In 1869, it was called Point Highfield Harbor by Commander R. W. Meade, U.S. Navy (USN). The early traders of the Hudson's Bay Co. called it Labouchere bay or anchorage for the steamer Labouchere. |
