History: | "This name meaning ""round and rocky,"" was applied by Father Veniaminov (1840, v.1, p. 255) to one of Shumagin Is.; Captain Lutke (1836, p. 267) called it ""Koulagayakh."" The exact location of this island is not known. by Ivan Petroff in the 10th Census in 1880. Recent U. S. Geological Survey maps indicate a site with two buildings. Its population in 1880 was 10." |
