| History: | "The Spanich name ""Punta de Jesus Maria"" was given to this feature in 1775 by Don Juan de la Bodega y Quadra and Francisco Antonio Maurelle; changed to ""Incarnation Point"" in June 1922 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), to avoid names implying irreverence. Wagner (1937, p464) applies the Spanish name to Cape Ulitka, on the NW coast of Noyes Island." |
