History: | Named in 1895 by Lieutenant Commander Moore, U.S. Navy (USN), and published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1901 Coast Pilot (p. 165). It was probably named for the Steamship (SS) Favorite, the trading steamer owned by North Western Trading Co., which navigated these waters. |
