|History:||Named in 1889 by Lieutenant Commander H. B. Mansfield, U.S. Navy (USN), for William Crowninshield Endicott, 1826-1900, Secretary of War under President Grover Cleveland, 1885-1889. The name was published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1891 Coast Pilot (p. 147).|
