Captain Alessandro Malaspina, in 1791, called it ""Punta Oesta de la Entrada del Principe,"" meaning ""West Point of the Prince's Entrance."" In 1796-99 local traders called it ""Menzie's Cape;"" Captain U. F. Lisianski called it ""South Cape"" in 1804." |
