History: | Named by the employees of the Alaska Oil and Guano Company at Killisnoo about 1900. The Klingit Indian name Kook Bay was published in 1899 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) on Chart 8050. It was called Kakagin Inlet in the 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 178). |
