History:	"Named by W. H. Dall, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), in 1880. Kupreanof Point, 17 mi. to the south, was called ""Cape Ivanofsky"" or ""John's Cape,"" by Captain Lutke (1836, p. 269), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). The name ""Ivanoff Bay"" was published in 1888 on U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) charts"
