History: | Named by O. H. Tittmann, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), for Robert Lee Faris, Assistant Director of U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) until his death in 1932. A member of Ferdinand Westdahl's party, Faris determined the geographic position of this peak in 1901. |
