A proposal to change the name Twin Lakes to Bob Rice Lakes was submitted in December 1983 and was rejected by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN) in January 1984. The decision was based upon the recommendation of the Alaska Board, which declined to approve the proposal after soliciting the opinions of the Beaver village Council. |
