History: | "Named by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) geologists in 1949. The name was originally applied to a hill on the left bank of Swayback Creek at 684300N1575600W. This feature was so named because of its ""swayback"" appearance. When the 1951 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Howard Pass map was edited, the original feature did not show, and the name was inadvertently misapplied to this mountain." |
