History: | "John Simpson (1852, v. 3, p. 918) weote that the Colville River receives ""a large tributary at thirty miles from its mouth, called the Itkalingkok or Indian River."" An Eskimo map drawn on warpping paper by a ""Colville"" Eskimo at Barrow, about 1900, shows the name ""it-kil-lik."" Itqiliq does mean ""Indian.""" |
