Spurr, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); ""Snake River"" was applied in 1900 by Lieutenant Commander J.F. Moser, U.S. Navy (USN), of the U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) steamer Albatross, ""because of the rivers winding course.""" |
