History: | "Prospectors' name reported in 1900 by E. C. Barnard (in Brooks, 1901, pl. 17), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Barnard showed North Fork Snake River for this stream and applied Gold Bottom Creek to what is now Grouse Creek. Arthur Gibson's 1908 ""Map of Seward Peninsula"" applied the names as defined above. This appears to be the stream labled ""East Fork (Snake River)"" by Schrader (1900c, p. 16), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)." |
