History: This name was originally applied to Okokmilaga River by the 1924 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) expedition 7Smith and Mertie, 1930, map), because it was thought the stream headed in Stoney's Chandler Lake. The name was reapplied by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) about 1944.
