History: | "Local name; published as ""Bartley Ridge"" by Maddren (in Brooks and others, 1914, pl. 4), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) change the spelling to ""Barkley,"" and reported that it was named for a local prospector called ""Jimmy the Bear"" Barkley, who crossed this area in 1905 or 1906 and again in 1907 (moffit, 1918 , p. 77)." |
